Sunday's Obituary - COUCH, Elisha T. (1820-1896)

COUCH, Elisha Tomkins "SUDDEN DEATH.," obituary, Marseilles Plaindealer, December 1896, unknown. LaSalle County Genealogical Guild. Ottawa, Illinois.

 Elijah [Elisha] T. Couch died very suddenly at the home of his son Eugene Tuesday morning. He had been down town, had returned home, and was sitting in a chair reading, when, without the least warning whatever, he passed from life. The funeral was held at the M.E. church Thursday, at 2 P.M.
Mr. Couch was born in Connecticut April 14, 1820, where he lived twenty years, coming to Illinois in 1856, where he has lived ever since. Mr. Couch was well known to every one in Seneca and vicinity. He leaves a wife and four children, Carrie and George, of Kankakee, and Lou and Eugene, of Seneca.
