BAUMGARTEN.
Charles Baugarten died Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. R.C. Hamilton on Second and Jefferson streets, at the age of 81 years. The deceased was born in Saxony, Olderberg [sic], Germany, on February 19, 1831, came to this country in 1851, and had been a resident of this country ever since. He leaves seven children: Mrs. Van Sandt, of Omaha, Neb; Mrs. R.C. Hamilton, of Lockport; Mrs. Walter Hill, of Chicago Alex Baumgarten, of Chicago; Harry Baumgarten, of Brewater, Minn.; Oscar and Herman Baumgarten, of Joliet; also twenty grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The funeral was held in the German Lutheran church at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Burial in Lockport cemetery.

Lewis Baumgartner died at his home in North Lockport Monday evening at the advanced age of 81 years. He was one of the oldest settlers of North Lockport and had been seriously ill only a short time. A widow, two sons, and one daughter survive him. The funeral took place this afternoon from the late home at 2 o'clock. Interment was in Lockport cemetery.
